My best friend got engaged

Thanks to Facebook I got the news that my high school best friend got engaged. Wow. Time flies. Most of my Pakistani friends have gotten engaged and some married too. Feels so weird, yet I guess this is the change phase in our age which I have to come to realise.

Leila and I were very close in high school. We were the opposites. She was the calm, silent and sweet type of girl, who loved reading books all the times especially love stories. At that time, sweet valley books had to be amongst her favourites. On the contrary, I was the hyper kind of person. Noisy, a sports fanatic and always enjoyed to play pranks. I used to get in trouble with the teachers all the time, but i believe if it wasn't for Leila, I might have been in trouble with the principal.

I do not recall Leila and I having any similar interests. But I vividly remember how dependable I was on her and how much she meant and still means to me. I would truly cherish my childhood moments with her.

I feel sad I lost touch with Leila since I moved to Singapore. And today I miss her exceptionally after finding out she has made the biggest decision in her life so far. I wish I was there.

Dearest Leila,

I am very happy for you. I hope you know how much you mean to me. Our friendship is one I will cherish all my life. I cant forget the times I spent with you and the rest in LGS. Those were the best days of my life.

You are someone very special and one that I can never forget.
