WHAT DO I WRITE FOR MY TOASTMASTER'S SPEECH?
This saturday i will be going for the toastmaster's meeting. Another day, another time for me to deliver another speech in front of an audience of about 15 people. The scary part comes when i think about my friends who would be competing against me to get the best speakers award. Damn.
I was thinking of speaking about "Acting" this time. It's a module i took up 6 months ago and could share points that are hidden to many. Well, this will be a different arena when it comes to topics i usually pick for my speech. Normally, I pick speeches which have got to do with self image, lessons to learn in life and the do's & donts one should keep in mind. This time I want to make it different.
Giving a speech is not as easy peezy, lemon squeezy as I once thought. I have good pronunciation, vocals and hold of vocab. So speech giving shouldn't be a problem yeah? well, thats where i had mistaken. Giving a speech also involves body language where you use gestures to communicate, vocal variety where you change the level and tone of your voice to create the buzzz, eye contact where you connect with the people watching you and content where you think carefully of what topic you are gona talk about.
Those of you who want to improve your speaking skills and be a wise, professional speaker trying googling for "toastmasters". What is toastmasters? it is a non-profit organisation where people learn how to develop there speaking skills, and make loads of friends. People of different races joins the club. there are Indians (north & south), chinese, malay, english and yes pakistani too..
Well thats good about for now. I gotta go prepare my speech. Too many friends coming to watch it this time. Need to start writing and Practicing my speech.. sigh
