Diwali 2008

Starting off with the most recent event that took place, Diwali. I wouldnt say this year's celebration sparked better than 2007s, nevertheless, it was still rocking.

Our diwali celebration begins with pooja. Thats where we, hindus, pay our tributes to various Gods thanking them for blessing us. This is followed by a dinner ordered from a famous north indian cuisine and of course the funky jokes cracking.

Diwali with Varun Jain

The extra-ordinary thing about Varun's diwali gathering was the number of foreigners attending it. There were more or less five, very sporting russians (and maybe some americans i seriously cant tell the difference)
The food was ordered from Brindas. After trying it, i can now say that there is more to north indian good food availability then what is supplied by Rangooli.

We had dance, and a tug with songs in a game called anthashari. The party ended around 11:30pm. Lovely.

Diwali with Mukul Jain:

Seems like all the Jains had input effort for this years Diwali. Anathana Jain lost out in the campaign this year, but there are years to come. :)

Mukul played an awesome role as a pandit,in simple terms the hindu priest. He and his wife, Bhawna, are experts when it comes it organising a proper pooja. Halwa as prashad was fantastic.

I dont have pictures for his diwali as the genius camera man, Deepak (see picture below) send it all to me in gif.

Deepak is the one on the left and umang is on the right. They both are drunkards. They dont need to drink to look like one. It comes naturally.
